Semi submersible platform at night

The semi-submersible platform is a specialised marine vessel, used in a number of specific offshore areas. The semi-submersible rig has large buoyancy bodies deep below the sea surface, on which the platform rests. The drillship represents another form of floating platform. These ships are used in very large water depths (over 3000m) and held in position by the ship’s propulsion engines. Based on the seakeeping characteristics, they are designed with enormous stability, using complex monitoring and control systems. Within the normal offshore vessels, the types vary between drilling rigs, oil production platforms and safety vessels.

KROHNE cargo monitoring system CARGOMASTER® is designed for all tank monitoring, alarm and liquid storage tank operations, including drafts and ballast tanks. The system includes level transmitters for tank level and ullage measurement, pump pressures, as well as temperature High/low level alarms can be configured. Close to 1000 vessels, from the smallest product tankers to the most complex chemical tankers and large VLCCs have installed CARGOMASTER® systems to date.
